Why free?
Built to use, not to sell
We built DataraSSH because we use it every day. Charging for a tool this fundamental felt wrong — so we don't.
No ads. Ever.
Zero advertising, zero telemetry, zero trackers. What you do on your servers stays between you and your servers.
No feature gates
Every feature is fully available from day one. Nothing is held back behind a paywall.
Supported by Datara
Revenue from Datara Studio keeps DataraSSH free for everyone, forever.

Frequently asked questions
Is it really completely free?
Yes. DataraSSH costs nothing to download and has no in-app purchases. Every feature — terminal, SFTP, file editor, port forwarding — is included at no charge.
Do I need to create an account?
No account required. Download, open, and connect. Your host details are stored locally in an encrypted SQLite database on your Mac.
Will it stay free?
Yes. DataraSSH will remain free forever. It is actively maintained and updated by Datara — new features ship at no extra cost to you.
What about my data and privacy?
All data — hosts, passwords, keys — is stored locally and encrypted at rest. DataraSSH makes no external connections except to the SSH servers you explicitly connect to.
Does it work on Apple Silicon?
Yes. DataraSSH is a native macOS application built with the Wails framework and runs natively on both Apple Silicon (M-series) and Intel Macs.
How do I get updates?
Updates are delivered through the app itself. You'll be notified when a new version is available and can update in one click — no subscription required.
